Deeply committed to social impact, RJ helped 300 rural women gain financial independence as a teenager. She integrated them into her father’s glove factory to repair and sell defective gloves, reducing waste and creating livelihoods. She also led a team that built schools in Nepal, improving the lives of hundreds of children. In college, she balanced academic excellence with action, earning multiple awards while leading initiatives on responsible leadership, sustainability, and ethical business. She also co-founded and led impactful programs within professional clubs, equipping peers with practical skills in finance, marketing, and consulting for the social sector.
Professionally, RJ worked as a strategy consultant and later at a social impact firm, designing inclusive growth and economic development programs for underserved communities. Alongside this, she ran an education NGO that provided financial aid, mentoring, and career support, impacting thousands of students. She wanted to pursue an MBA with a clear goal of scaling her non-profit and increasing the impact of higher education on India’s youth. However, she needed guidance on articulating her vision for scale and impact.
We guided her to highlight her mission-driven leadership and demonstrate how an accelerated one-year MBA could help her develop the strategic and operational skills needed for greater impact. We helped her craft a narrative that linked her past efforts to her future goals, positioning her as a leader poised to elevate her work to the next level.
RJ’s journey reflects unwavering commitment, thoughtful leadership, and sustained impact. Through a combination of clear vision, effective execution, and lived experience, she has laid the groundwork to effect large-scale change. She demonstrated how an MBA will serve as a strategic lever, helping her deepen her expertise, broaden her network, and expand her non-profit’s footprint to bring educational equity to hundreds of thousands of youth, which eventually helped her secure admission at Kellogg.
